Mainly based on the point and click method, you are shown your goal and then required to use the objects around you to achieve it. This complexity is all very fitting, because Machinarium is actually a quite difficult. Machinarium is a beautifully crafted game with graphics that manage to be disarmingly cute and haunting at the same time and music that is at once mysterious and soothing. You must get back inside to save the town from the Black Cap Brotherhood, rescuing your girlfriend in the process. The premise of Machinarium is simple - you're a robot who has accidentally been thrown out onto the scrap heap beyond the city.
Luckily for us, Machinarium is one of these games, a program so fun that I had a really difficult time convincing myself to stop playing it and actually start writing the review. I’ve played every game by Amanita and I’m eagerly awaiting Creaks.It's great when you find a game that is just so cool it's really hard to stop playing, but unfortunately that's not always the case. This game (and Samorost 3) are my favorite games of all time and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a great game with hours of play time. I can’t get over how well done this game is!!! It’s THAT GOOD.
It took me all day to complete the game and it was so much fun the entire time. It’s so unique, imaginative, beautiful, creative, and I could go on and on.
It’s unlike any game I’ve ever seen or played. It boggles my mind that those developers, whose heads popped out of the jack-in-the-box, came up with the ideas in this game. I can’t even describe in words how well this game is made.
The characters are endless, each unique and with their own special sounds, are the cutest of any game I’ve played, of course, after the characters in Samorost 3 - by the same developer.
